ERZ Girls High School Lacrosse

Elk River Girls High School Lacrosse consists of athletes from Elk River  and Zimmerman High Schools (ERZ).  Elk River Girls Lacrosse competes at the Varsity & Junior Varsity Levels as members of The Northwest Suburban Conference and The Minnesota State High School League. We seek to provide a Community Based, Volunteer-Driven program that promotes the growth and development of our Athletes. We provide a fun, fair, and safe environment that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence.

Registration Now Open! – Northwest Metro League

Hey girls,


We will be having our own team for the Northwest Metro league this summer. It is a great opportunity for the Elk River/Zimmerman girls to play together throughout the summer; and is coached by Stephanie, Derek, Jeremy or Mikayla. Read below for more information.

Maple Grove High School Stadium- Thursday Nights

Who: incoming 7th-outgoing 12th graders

Dates: Thursdays - June 20, 27; July 11*, 28, 25; August 1st (*No games July 4th)

Game Times: 5:15 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:45 pm, and 9:00 pm in the Maple Grove High School Stadium. *You will be assigned 1 game time a week, game times will rotate each week.

Normal Registration (Wednesday, April 24, 2019, - Wednesday, June 11, 2019)- $95

Late Registration (Wednesday, June 12, 2019, - Till League is Full/Start of Season) - $110

What to Expect:

·        12 v 12 League Play format

·        17 - 25 players per team including a goalie.

·        1 regulation game each week. ( 2 - 25-minute halves)

·        Each team is coached by an experienced lacrosse coach  (Our own Elk River Coaching Staff)

·        1 Certified Professional Referees per game*

·        Coach-led half time debriefings on team strategies

·        Table/League manager there for easy check-in and to help answer any questions or concerns for players or their families.

·        This is a competitive league, so it is not ideal for beginners. 


·        Bring goggles, a mouth guard, stick, cleats, and water each week.

·        Arrive 20 minutes early the first week, to check in and get your pinnie.

·        Our coaches stress that they are there to help you get better. If you want specific feedback on a skill, please do not hesitate to ask; our coaches love to help! 

·        We want to make this experience valuable to you as a player; if you are having any negative experiences - please bring these to the attention of the coaches, table manager, or e-mail us at right away, so we can help make things right!

·        Sign up early to ensure you can be placed on a team with friends. WE CANNOT guarantee placement or pinnie size if you sign up with only a few weeks before the start of the league. 

·        All athletes playing in the league must be registered. If you want to split a spot with a friend, please e-mail

Season Information

Hello Everyone, me again!

We will be having three teams this year: Varsity, JV and B squad. Normal Practice times will be 4:00-5:30, by Salk Middle School.

All practices and games are MANDATORY. Missing practices or games will result in less game time. 

As a Reminder:

  • Two weeks of organized practice shall precede the first contest.
  • Each child must participate in 10 days of practice before playing in a game
  • Any visible long or short sleeve undergarments much correspond to team’s predominant jersey color or be light with light jersey and dark with a dark jersey. White Jersey-White undergarments. Red/Black Jersey- Black undergarments

New Changes for the 2019 Girls High School Lacrosse Season

  •  Starting and Stopping the Play
  •  The whistle is used to stop and start play with the exception of SELF-START.
  • Following a whistle blown for a foul outside the critical scoring area, the player who is awarded the free position, after coming to a stop, may continue the play without waiting for an additional whistle from a settled stance (both feet stationary, on the ground and the ball positioned in the head of the Crosse)
  •  The offending player shall move 4 meters from the player taking the free position directed by the official. All players must move 4 meters away from the free position.
  • The play will begin once the ball carrier steps or passes the ball.
  • Self-Start is not an option when:
  • The game clock is stopped
  • There is a restraining line violation
  • The foul is in the critical scoring area
  • There is an alternating possession
  • There is an inadvertent whistle
  • A goal is scored 

Mandatory: Please bring your signed handbook page to tryouts. The handbook is posted on the ERZ Team Website. Must be signed and turned in to Coach Stephanie before playing in any games.
